Re: Time for a new saddle

I ended up with a Passier PSL VD. It’s considered an all purpose. Forward flaps but a dressage seat if that makes sense. I loved it as soon as I sat in it. Perfectly balanced. I rode 2 other dressage saddles the fitter brought but I had to fight to stay centered. And she sold me the demo, so I got $...

The most I ever spent on a helmet was $300 about 8 years ago. I believe it was a OneK. I wear an International that I picked up at State Line for $70. I’m an Ariat fan. Are there other brands of paddock boots? LOL. How about Blunstones? Roomy toes. I wear riding tights, not breeches, so can’t help y...

The Passier rep is coming Saturday.. I’m so excited! We had a long talk about my wants, my body size, Miss A’s body. The lady is a certified fitter, a Masterson practitioner, and and did the FN apprenticeship in Germany.

Time for a new saddle

For assorted reasons I’ve decided to buy a new saddle. My heart leans towards Passier or Custom. There is a Passier fitter about an hour away, and a Custom rep slightly closer. I put out a note to each. I know next to nothing about saddle fitting. Any bullet points? I don’t like bucket seats with hi...

I came in to post an update. Yesterday I got back in the saddle. Not on Miss A. though. On rock steady school horse Astro. Well, it happened. I fell off Ariel today. We finished our ride and I was dismounting. As in, we weren’t moving. I swung my right leg over, and either she spooked (which she never does) or I goosed her. Anyway, she did something quickly and I went off. Landed on my butt/hip. I was alone in the arena...
