Re: Packing for a Month in Philadelphia?
What a lovely time you will have! Philadelphia does indeed have a great restaurant scene and there is a lot to do. If you have a dark colored knee-length lightweight wool coat, you can wear that everywhere. Bring scarfs too and lightweight gloves. Philly is a little dressier than the norm, so you'll...

That sounds horrible but you also made it hilarious.

Re: Boink equivalent ??
I don't have experience with the Boink, but I tried the FITS summer weight this year, and I really liked them. Me too! I adore the summer FITS Treads model - they have little spots of some adherent type of material bonded in the area that would be covered by a full seat. They are flattering, cool, ...

Re: Spinoff from bathroom remodel - hot tubs
I had one for about 7 years in northern Minnesota. It was outdoors, and an 8-person tub so good-sized. It made very little difference to the electric bill, surprisingly enough. However, a single power outage resulted in a hose breaking overnight and these repairs are very expensive so I gave it away...

Keurig or Keurig-style coffee makers: Do you like them?
I've gotten tired of not-so-fresh coffee, and leaning toward a Keurig or similar. If you have tried one of these, what do you think? I don't like the fact that Keurig tried to make the pods proprietary by putting a code on their labels, but I see claims online that other pod makers have figured out ...

Help me find the impossible tall boots
My dream tall boot is: 1. Brown 2. Available in wide foot 3. Actually for riding in, as opposed to the ones flooding Google that are for "fashion" and this is the hardest: 4. They can't have pointy toes because post-surgery my left big toe wings to the right. Help! Much appreciated.

Re: What will it take for gun lovers to say ENOUGH
Well I live in Texas so there is just no reasonable conversation about guns. This is the most gun-crazy spot on the planet, I hope. The Texas legislature recently passed a law specifically for university campuses, mandating that concealed-carry be permitted. I work at a university campus, and I deal...

Re: Family get togethers, 2 hours late? A whine...
I will never understand late people. I am chronically early, which would probably also bother everyone on this thread. I can be seen driving around the neighborhoods of people who have invited me over, killing time until the dot of the invite time arrives. At which point I also arrive, to shocked fa...

I've really enjoyed the entire Mama story, and I agree with the poster above who said this should be a book.
