Re: Potato and Bacon Soup

Good recipe! The only change I'll make is cooking the potatoes before adding to the mix. I don't like the texture of spuds cooked in anything other than water. (or steamed) Thanks!

Re: Why acupuncture is complete nonsense

There is no evidence that acupuncture works AS ADVERTISED. There is plenty of evidence that acupuncture works VIA PLACEBO. Mayo says acupuncture works because there is evidence placebo works. Nobody can doubt placebo can work for some things. Placebo is real and evidence-based. Actually that is bas...

Re: Why acupuncture is complete nonsense

Hey, who's going to call the Mayo Clinic and tell them they're full of balderdash and to get with the "science" program? ;)

Re: Interesting read re learned helplessness

I agree with a lot of what she says, but I'm a layman, not a professional in stats or science. I've seen a lot of "8 day stare" horses in the western pleasure world and I believe a horse can be lame and not show it until weeks or months go by. For a horse to be drugged at a sale, you'd thi...

Re: Short Back????

Specific breeds/types do tend to have a more compact frame and thus higher likelihood of a short back; however, keep in mind that mares within those breeds are more likely to not have as short of a back as their male counterparts. Mares have to have some depth of frame to accommodate foals. While I...

Re: Jeff Sessions is out

Looks like Sessions is at the front of the line for many others. I wonder when Kelly and Nielson will get booted. And now the residents wife is firing people too. They are quite entertaining in a "my heads head on fire and I'm drowning" sort of way.

Re: Why acupuncture is complete nonsense

OP, you don't sound like someone that's trying to enlighten the world on science. You sound like someone on a soapbox in a park. Well so what? I don't understand what appears to be animosity against someone that wants to post an opinion on a product, procedure, training method or anything else havi...

Re: Anyone heard of 4cyte Epitalis Forte?

I have read good reviews on it, but haven't tried it myself. The cost was a bit stiff. I'd like to find something to help my aged boy in the winter too. He is not off or lame, but little things seem to make him achy. (little things = getting shod, he will be a bit grouchy with the farrier; moves wit...

Re: Why acupuncture is complete nonsense

New discoveries happen all the time. Just because we can't see it, feel it, hear it, doesn't mean "it's" not there. The only knowledge I have of acupuncture is thru a friend with a hip problem. She suffered for years with that hip. I don't know the who, what, and why of the situation, only...

Re: Teaching a horse how to learn

Flight, that is a very good video. To me it shows how his lessons on leaving the gate will help with pretty much everything. Straightness, bending, flexing, forward, etc. demi, there is a really good video of him with a dressage horse that is wiggly and behind the leg. If I can find it I'll attach i...

Teaching a horse how to learn

I like watching Warwick Schillers videos. He doesn't have gimmicky tricks or games, he doesn't have special halters or whips, he simply lays out the steps to help the rider and horse. (jmho) This video is a good example of how he makes the right thing easy and the wrong thing hard as he teaches a yo...
