SMART goal is a good reminder. I'm bad about the measurable part. I tend to set a lot of "better" and "more" goals when it comes to riding and that can be hard to track.

MM is not a leaper or a farter, but our extended trot is a distinct lowlight. It's improved a lot and will continue to improve but it's definitely something I have to push for. If there's no active swelling, soreness or lameness then I wouldn't worry about it too much. Blob, it is my opinion that most of the time when a horse shuts off when leg is added, that the door that is closed, metaphorically, is the jaw.
