How are you doing with the new horse?
I very much agree with all who have said "Take it slowly". Enjoy the good looking boy and stay relaxed enough to have fun. He already looks like a good citizen so any improvements that might happen while you have him will just be icing on the cake!

I tried used channel locks and vice grips and it was still hard to move them. The shavings were in the way and had to be swept out of the way first.

I had the 6x8x3/4 TSC mats and wouldn't do it again. They are very difficult for one small person to move alone. I had to do it in a hurry also and because of the rush the base wasn't prepared well. Love it! Thanks for sharing! I think it is notable that it was only about 1st to 2nd level. You don't have to be trained to a very high level to be amazing, just do what you do really well. :) Totally agree!! Post like exvet's are a big part of the reason why I find this board so valuable. Clear explanations based on experience and a genuine appreciation of the horse are not always available even if one pays for them....
