Re: Goals Thread...
http://youtu.be/str0M7CqKzE Couple of minutes of video from the clinic last weekend. We were making sure everything was in place to start the changes and my trainer thinks he's ready- just have to wait for my regular trainer to hop on and ask. I've never ridden a change in my life and Kent hadn't st...

Re: Goals Thread...
Oh Flight, I love him! He's so eager haha. I loved the last change that you got at 0.42. I will have someone to video Saturday and Sunday but most likely not tonight as my ride is at 6.30pm and will be under lights- so video won't be brilliant anyway. If I get some decent video I'll share it after t...

Re: Test Question: SI - then turn right
Correct! Otherwise you would have to finish the SI before E, straighten and then turn right.
I may be weird but I really like the second level tests![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Re: Spinoff of a spinoff: Tempo
I have a horse that can also get tense/tight in the back and although it seems the opposite of what you should do, I also warm him up a bit over tempo for the first few minutes of trot work. I also add in a lot of transitions and sweeping leg yields as this starts to get him more in front of the leg...

Re: Goals Thread...
klark_kent07 - How did you go in the 3.3? I made a dog's breakfast out of it, with 2 EOC's and probably a 3rd one that the judges may have overlooked! Time to start practising these tests in a full sized arena now I think! I only have a small one at home so I'm guessing where the markers are and th...

Re: Spinoff: Introducing the Flying Changes
I just started a thread on this very topic! I'm just starting them as well, am going to have trainer ride him for a week or 2 to help get the idea as she is very experienced and will start them so I can continue. I have only played with asking for an actual change a few times and have only got a cha...

Re: Introducing changes... Any advice appreciated :)
Thanks so much HafDressage, that's exactly what I'm after ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
I'll try this exercise this afternoon and see how he goes. He can be a bit lazy so something that gets him a bit anticipating is perfect!

Introducing changes... Any advice appreciated :)
I'm about to introduce the changes to my horse, my coach will help in the beginning but she is has just received some very upsetting and life changing news and it may be a few weeks before she is ready to take my horse for training. So I have been playing around and seeing what happens when I ask fo...

Re: Helpful tips for travers?
Something that I found useful when learning travers was to look over my outside shoulder briefly. So heading down the long side from K on the right rein, look over your left shoulder- this helps your hips to align correctly and puts your weight onto your inside seat bone, much like how you would ali...

Re: Goals Thread...
My last goals were to get through our first second level start, which we did and won with a 62%. We have our last competition for the year this coming weekend and are once again dipping our toes into second level- 3.3 the hardest one! At least I'll be prepared for next year I guess! We will a...
