Re: Blankets on Sale? Any Suggestions?

I have found some nice, new Rambo's on Ebay and also Bit of Britain recently had a sale, not sure if it's still running. I'm loyal to Rambo, but I do need just a couple of thin stable sheets. I tried a friends cotton ones and I don't like how they "stick" to the horse, I also think from th...

Re: Appliance need number 4 - What irons do you like and why?

Rowenta all the way...been loyal to them for a good 20 years. I have city water but still use a softener, so I buy bottled spring water for my iron. I think it helps extend the life. Mine is a nice weight and puts out a lot of steam. I do use it a few times a week. I have bought factory rebuilt ones...

Re: Favorite "Cool" Saddle Pad

Fatcat - Oh, that looks nice. So you see very little to no part of the pad once saddled. I do have to use a sheepskin 1/2 pad on top of my regular pad, as my saddle is a bit wide on her. Wonder if that is keeping her on the warm side too, even though it's not right on her back.

Re: Favorite "Cool" Saddle Pad

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't realize that the foam core could actually be making her warmer/sweaty. The pad itself is not foam, only the interior is a squishy foam. I do have some regular dressage shaped cotton pads, but she does get pretty hot in those too. I will also check out the seamsri...

Favorite "Cool" Saddle Pad

I've been using a nice EOUS pad with some foam inside for my new mare. While I like it, with the warm weather and her body temp being on the hot side, she sweats terribly under it.

I'm looking for suggestions for a new pad that keeps the horses back cooler and offers some protection.

Thank You !

I have used box fans - I do clean them out yearly of dust and hay. I only wish the other boarders would clean or replace theirs. I think it should be a requirement that the $20 fan be replaced yearly - or at the least CLEANED ! I find it amazing that we have some very nice/expensive show horses at o...
