Re: How do YOU define Intellectual Property?

How did this topic become so contentious here? I have participated in countless message boards over the years, most much larger than any dressage board ever known. Yet this is the only place I've encountered that has argued about this on what seems like a near constant basis. If you don't want peopl...

Thought this was a neat effect as well, removing the background and adding a large lens flare.

Re: General photography related stuff thread

How much do you guys use blur layer with a mask on your photos? I've tried it on a couple so far and really like the results. I notice a lot of pro photos have a soft, slightly glowly look and I assume this is all done mostly in post production. I'm not sure this is all created with a blur effect th...

Re: General photography related stuff thread

Just a tiny bit dark but barely. I took some pictures over the weekend. I've been playing with the RAW format and GIMP editor. I suck at trying to manually darken some areas. Other than that I really like this picture. http://i61.tinypic.com/x0sa9x.jpg Tried to get this one to work too. http://i58.t...

Re: General photography related stuff thread

Just going with the photo you posted, I would like more space around the subjects. In other words, if you've cropped it this tight, I would try a wider crop. If this were in RAW, I would stick it in lightroom, play with the exposure, dial down the highlights, brighten up the shadows, and just becau...

Re: General photography related stuff thread

I have a Nikon D5100. I use the kit lens and this zoom lens: http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-55-300mm-4- ... br%20/%3EH I'm shooting in .jpg. I'd shoot in raw if I knew what to do with it. I'm not looking to do anything crazy, just something to make them look more professional. Most of the things I read...

Re: General photography related stuff thread

Can anyone point me towards so Photoshop / photo editing tips? I'm pretty good at the shooting portion but I think my photos would look much better with some post processing.

Re: Goals Thread...

My goal for the rest of this year is to do a longe lesson once a week. I've done two so far and they've been extremely helpful. I'm also planning on hauling out to the local eventing course just as a way to do something different. My trainer is going to bring along her 4 year old greenie that has on...
