Thank you for sharing your story. I think having a horse for you to ride would be awesome for your never-ending rehab--perhaps it would help with the muscle spasms even. I am so sorry about your son, perhaps one day he'll come around.

Managed to sneak in a ride on Mom's Day having not ridden for a few days. Both horses are a little sore in their backs from too many stallion games last week but they still went just fine. Every time it gets rainy out the boys start wrastling with each other in addition to tearing around the pasture...

Good job with your pony. I see a ton of improvement with you and she. My only observation is that you seem to be quite grippy with your knees, maybe you could work that out on the lunge? Seems like you have a very positive instructor and that she is helping you to gain confidence in yourself as well...

I have extra long rubber lined reins that I really like. I wish I could remember the brand, sorry, but they are smooth (no stops) and narrow so they fit my size small (6 1/2 -7) hands. I have a red barn bridle that I really like but the reins that came with it were just those crummy web ones.
