We pulled off ivy on a rental house my mother owned and the entire brick front came down...it was through to the inside walls and wrapped around plumbing.
Nope...just nope.

With all my friends horror stories about dating in general these days...I'm afraid if the SO kicks the bucket I'm just going to keep thanking the powers that be for rechargeable Japanese technology.

Re: Gee, what an opportunity!
I paid "board" and maintenance (shoes, shots, etc.) to an outfitter to take a "project horse" gelding I stupidly bought and use him for the summer/fall hunting pack string one year. Somewhere along the way the horse found his brain and ended up being a solid citizen but it took f...

Re: From whence springs the ability to fix things?
I've been mostly self-taught, curious how things work, love to build stuff and observant when watching experts do their thing. If I can take it apart- I can usually figure out what needs to be replaced or fixed. I also got to do a lot of "car" work with my step-father who was a master mech...

Re: Snoring
I've used the Easy Sleep Pro when I had to adjust to my Sleep Apnea mouthpiece as I can't tolerate a Cpap or Bipap machine. Worked OK.
I would strongly suggest getting checked for Sleep Apnea if chronic snoring is an issue.

I'd report it and dog it to the end- I wish other folks had done so in the past. BTDT...a family member did everything ticky-tacky and boorish you could imagine for her 2nd wedding to the point that her own mother boycotted the wedding. I chose not to participate as a bridesmaid or attend, but did go in with another cousin to send her a copy of "Miss Manners on Weddings&quo...

Re: Do any of you get migraines post menopause?
I've had hormonal migraines since my 30's - been tracking them forever with my doc. They changed when I became peri-menopausal, and have changed again, becoming more intense, as I head towards the post-phase. Splitting headaches, ear ringing or ear aches have been my life along with the urge to kill...

Re: What would you tell your 20 year old self if you could?
1.) Finish college then not later.
2.) Dump "you know who" way sooner than you did.
3.) Quit working for the family businesses - they will never take you seriously or pay you for all the actual hours you put in.

Re: Compression Fractures/Kyphoplasty
Research the procedure thoroughly, research any doc's involved and get a 2nd opinion. And always ask the doc's if that would be the procedure they would have or want their spouse/kid to have if the condition were exactly the same. If they waffle...be wary. A family member had one of these go wrong a...

Don't do what my cousin and I did. We painted the trim on one window with one version of the trim color and another window with the other choice. Except we did it on different sides of the house so the light wasn't the same. If you do test trims...make sure they are on the same side of the house. (W...

A very clueless male co-worker spilled red wine on my seat at an awards banquet while I was away talking to our CFO and didn't tell me until after I sat back down that someone was coming with a new chair. This is my whole family...they will all be late to their own funerals so we just eat on time and if they do show up they get to shift with the leftovers. I stopped enabling them long ago. As kids we learned to "manage up" early on. If we needed mom to be somewhere close to on time...we alw...

What do you do? The social media options that will work best for your type of "business" can vary greatly depending on a lot of variables. A bit more information would be helpful. (Service business? Artist? Consultant?) What works for my brothers contracting business (literally booked soli...
