Susan, thank you! He hasn't slipped much since I have had him but did it once with me last week and once with the trainer. It does seem that after a period of not working much that it is worse. So we will keep trucking away the next few weeks and see if it strengthens up again.

Straightforward, good point about the slipping and having a butt bar for more support.

I think there are a few trailer places near by us so that should be easy enough.

The person you purchased the trailer from must have removed the center support and the butt bars. I agree , you need both. I do tie to the trailer . Mountaineer, there actually is a bar for the middle that is removable. The lady only had one horse so she would use it as a slant load if she was alone. So if I'm hauling two, I will need to put the middle bar in again.

I do think I'll look for butt bars. I think they make it much safer.

I'm very safety cautious, so I'll admit I get nervous about Trailering. I'll definitely have my trainers help and won't haul alone (maybe ever.) But still. Just trying to figure out the best way to work with this type of trailer.

Piedmont, makes sense! I was thinking that when he spun with the trainer he spun to the outside (towards the spooky thing) but that one caught her off guard and she didn't have him "in position." I pretty much know his tell tale signs now so I try to be proactive but not defensive.

Lynx has not coughed in a few days! I'm going to keep him on the Zyrtec for just a few more days and then take him off and see what happens. Because if it was a virus I certainly don't want to just keep them on Zyrtec for the heck of it.

Straightforward, Lynx is always tight in his girth area too. I've been exploring with massage and stretching But I'm not sure I found the ticket yet.
