Egg salad sandwich (hospital food) Well egg salad sounds fairly hospital proof! Here's a recipe from the Seattle Times many years ago (if yellowing paper is any indication!) - just a payback for some of the terrific recipes I've gotten here. It is very good and also vegetarian: Santa Fe Stew with C...

When we first moved to the farm and cleared/fenced the upper pasture, I was very concerned about the bears which we knew were out and about (and soon discovered, after clearing that pasture that an "animal highway" ran through the upper pasture). One sunny August day, the alpha mare/broodm...

Although I don't have the horses anymore (almost 2 years now), I still dream about them often. A more surprising dream was one I had a couple of weeks ago where I got to ride California Chrome! One of the sweet moments in my life was the summer afternoon I came home from a complete hysterectomy. I'm so sorry, DJR. You're "taking care of" skills are being way overutilized these days. On an upbeat note, I had a mare suffer a moderate high front suspensory strain, and after going through ESWT, recovered very well from that injury. Donkey is working overtime these days.
