Jingles for my dad
For a peaceful passing. My dad is 82 with a laundry list of health issues from heart to COPD to dementia to low BP and other exacerbating problems. He has had two hospital stays in the last month, we are not doing that anymore. We've called in hospice for help, have full time sitters here (they are ...

Looks like fun SueB Chisamba awesome job with Caliburn. You do a wonderful job of turning horses around. Quick pop in, still not riding right now. Weather has been so wet and we have put my dad in hospice now. It's been a roller coaster. Wanted to chime in on contact/head position that Chisamba was ...

I do WIH with all of mine before I ride using lateral work also to test and see how they are feeling that day. I then get on and walk a bit long rein before I move to trot and canter. I like lateral work in all the gaits and foreword and back in the gaits.

Riding skill is just the seat in general. I have a very flexible lower back and so tend to hollow there. Training changes on a more difficult horse to do them on. I think in Georgia you almost have to clip to do hard work. At least I do. My horses tend to sweat. I do a blanket type clip on Rip and a trace on others. I'm lucky Joplin has little to no winter coat:) and does not require clipping. I know in Florida they have to clip, it is way warmer down there.

Having someone hold up the same side front foot which is much easier than holding up other hind is just as effective.
