South African here. We've got a few brands that are half chicory, half coffee. I really struggle to drink it, it just doesn't have that strong tobacco flavour I crave in my coffee

I'm navigating the treacherous waters of suspensory rehab. So my goals are walking, walking and more walking. And also to try and stay sane and not imagine every horrible terrible thing that might show up on the second scan near the end of April.

He's out of an Appaloosa mare, by a big Belgian wb stallion called Ulior van het Wuitenshof (http://www.capital-stud.co.za/ulior.html).

Fortunately he inherited his dad's lush mane and tail, and not the typical Appaloosa wisps

Keep them coming please! Odin was diagnosed with minor suspensory damage in both front legs yesterday, confirmed with soft tissue scans. I'm very bleak. We're on 6 weeks of rest before the next scan, followed by rehab.

My 2 cents... I think this horse has very different conformation than we have become used to seeing in the International arena. He's long as a bus behind the saddle so he's not going to look like he's tracking up like Valegro, for instance. It was a relaxed, clean, accurate test. Super nice pirouet...

CC for us is going okay. I hear you on the c/w... We can get lovely ones if I'm schooling them, and doing quite a few transitions in a row, but if I have to pop one in the middle of the test it's decidedly unlovely!

My goal was to be confirmed in the second level work so that we can start showing it from the start of 2016. Some things are better than I had hoped, some things slid back a bit. His trot work (never his nicest gait) has come on in leaps and bounds, so much suppleness! Canter has fallen apart a bit....

Had a jumping lesson yesterday, and jumped a line of 5 uprights with one stride in between. Here is the height of the last one. I like shorter, more compact horses generally. But not specifically because of how easy/difficult they are to ride, as I don't have all that much experience with different body types. I just find it more pleasing to look at

What worked for me to get the feeling of the bend required, is to ride a 10m circle. When you have nearly (but not quite) completed the circle, i.e. when the front feet hit the track, just carry on straight up the long side.
