Re: old horse and my farrier
I know the song. I use to always have the oldies on in the barn. When I lost Ruby back in 2009 I switched stations just so I could avoid the song Ruby Tuesday. What was strange, last year when we lost Missy, the next morning when I turned the radio on the first song that played was that one by Passe...

Re: Radio in the Barn
The radio does nothing for pigeons, I had sort of pet pigeons in the barn for years, they never cared about the music. I had also heard it would keep skunks away. Another myth!

Re: old horse and my farrier
She will definitely be missed. I do have a problem with the old mare that's left. My old gang was 6 horses years ago, now down to 2. Angie just has the hardest time when we loose one. Last January I lost another mare that was a month away from turning 31. Angie was a nervous wreck for days, then see...

Re: Radio in the Barn
We leave ours on during the day. Mostly for us but if horses are in because of storms we turn it up with something relaxing to try and help drown out the noise. Husband is retired now and has a big CD collection. Drives me nuts because a lot of what he loves I hate. He will try and only do that if h...

We finally lost her last night, she was two months away from turning 31. Everything just wore out. Vet came, everything was pretty fast and peacef...

Re: Wide Cob-size Bridles or Short Horse-size bridles
I have the same issue. I just buy full size horse bridle and have a saddler guy cut it down to size where needed. My horse is cob size from bit to bit but everywhere else horse size. I have one now I need to send out to get worked on so I can use it .

Re: Decrapification
Bowling ball issue solved! I contacted the nice newer lanes we went to last July. He got back to me right away and said they have youth and high school leagues and he is sure he can find a kid that would love the ball and bag. Just have to drop it off. I just can't throw something away unless it's b...

Re: Decrapification
The bowling ball doesn't mean anything now. I use to use it but it's extra heavy. I couldn't use it now if I wanted to with my hands. Not like I go bowling much. We took our granddaughter to a bowling alley for her birthday last July. First time I have been in decades. Kids did arcade games and us f...

I need to start all this too. I did send one Dressage saddle to Pelham to sell. I have another saddle too and other tack that needs to go. Just not sure the best way to sell them. I guess we start with getting a paypal account? I worry about when I am gone and my husband, my kids have no clue about ...

Re: Are all cats...
I forgot about the toilet paper thing. Had a cat named Ivan who would shred it. Started when he was young and we had a Pyrenees puppy. Not sure which one started it but they worked together at it. The dog grew out of it but Ivan never did. Never put the toilet paper on the roller and tried to train ...

Re: Are all cats...
I have had a lot of cats over the years. Right now my three house cats are siblings. Found them when they were tiny kittens. They get along great. Only thing they do is want to chew on plants or dried flower decorations so have to have everything out of reach. The Christmas tree is in the great room...

Re: What will happen to today's young men and women?
A friend had a 16 year old nephew who had never had a shovel in his hand. Had to teach the kid how to shovel! Now, those of us who can't remember when they first held a shovel, we need to understand what a shovel feels like in the hands of a kid who has never held one. If someone handed you a paint...

Re: What will happen to today's young men and women?
I kind of wonder the same thing. Around my area (middle of Oklahoma) the new vets are the ones that have me shaking my head. Fresh out of vet school, get hired by my very experienced established vet and they don't want to put in the hours. He has had several he let go because they said they would no...

Re: Back on Track socks
I have the gloves for arthritis pain. I wear them at night if my hands are really hurting. Sometimes not even advil would take the pain away but these gloves work for me! They are wonderful for the pain. I bought a pair of the socks for my husband for Christmas. Won't know how good they are until th...

The Jack Meagher is the one I thought I had. I still think we do somewhere. I don't remember buying the other one. I ordered the Masterson book/DVD.Wall chart so that will be a good Christmas present. I hope he really gets into it. The horse I ride the most has a tight back a lot. Last time the chir...

Re: horse massage book/video
Great, I knew I could count on feedback here. I found I could get from his own website the book/DVD/wall chart for one price. Seemed reasonable. If he really likes this he could do a course next year, there was on in Kansas in September. Close enough since we are in Oklahoma.

horse massage book/video
I have an old book (1980's) by Jean-Marie Denoix. My husband is trying to learn this to work on our own horses. He is not liking this book. Asked for a better one or a video. I checked barnes and noble and there are quite a few. Wondering if anyone on here can recommend a good one. Wasn't sure where...

Re: heated gloves?
Thought about the heated glove liners. If the regular ones are too bulky for riding probably would be for chores too. I got him the back on track ones, just the thin, not the chore/riding gloves. He already lost one in the house! I have a pair and they sure are great for arthritis. So the riding bac...

Re: heated gloves?
He has used hand warmers when he remembers to. Just trying to find more options. The heated gloves sound nice but way too many choices. Found one site that had all kinds of price ranges on theirs but did not have XL. His hands swell and the just large would be too tight sometimes. I have gotten him ...

heated gloves?
Trying to find a pair in XL, the battery kind for my husband. He has some allergy to the cold and normal gloves just don't do the trick on keeping him warm. Was wondering if anyone has tried the heated gloves that take batteries, if they work, what brands are good. Some seem really over priced. Got ...

I have that stand with the cradle but for Bunny even when we used it set real low, her leg locks up after he was done with it. We use it on the others, I have several old horses.

Want to say first that I am glad this board got going. I am not that big a fan of facebook groups. They are just not the same as a board like this. I was White Sapphire on the UDBB. Don't post a lot. From Ohio but moved to Oklahoma back in 1979. Have my own farm: www.blarneystonellc.com Website hasn...
