Re: Toe crack, just started, cause? PICS added

Thanks Quelah, no offence taken. Pics are recent. Will trim and take more pics on Tues. I should have taken pics when I started doing them as they were way way worse. He's really not retired as much as I don't want to ride him until his hooves are better. The frogs, especially the frog on his left, ...

I don't ride him. Rode him 3x last year and once so far this year. The soil is loamy/sand, very soft, no self trimming at all. He has a toe first landing. He plays really hard with my donkey EVERY morning if it's not too awfully hot. They have minimum 2 acres and 4 acres when I open the lower pastur...

Re: Toe crack, just started, cause?

I took pics. Over the 16 years I've had this horse, I've had many farriers out and gave each one of them a year to two to make changes.

Here are some pics. They are deceptive imo beacause the sole at the toe is nearly even with the hoof wall as far as depth goes.

Toe crack, just started, cause? PICS added

I trim my horse myself and have for 1.5 years. They appeared to be doing good until yesterday when I noticed a toe crack just starting out. He's barefoot and has suffered medial flares and long toes for years because of poor trimming and also white fungus in his frogs which gave him deep central sul...

Re: My little dog has some alpha issues - help appreciated

Yes, Kelo nailed it. I purchased a JRT mix from a rescue when he was 6 months old. He and sibs had been found near fainting on a dirt road and emaciated. They had had him 2 months when I got him. My friends thought him autistic but I felt he was just scared. I worked with building his confidence up ...

How much does everyone feed at a time and how many times a day?

bits, I copied your post and sent it to my nephew as it illustrates how one can be taken in and then how integrity does not hold up through time. Good insight on how realtors are ultimately an employee of yours and not you of them.

radiant heat barrier in walk out basement (removed fiber glass garage door)

The garage door in the walk out basement was removed and we sealed it up with T1-11 and 2"x8"s and walk thru door. It faces West and receives the hot afternoon sun. Small space, 9'x7', the rest is cinder block. I am wanting to keep the lower level cool as much as possible during the summer...

My parents always had bottom freezer because of the eye level advantage to most used compartment. When I moved out and into my own home, that was one of the first things I replaced and got a bottom freezer fridge. That said, I purchased a door unit and hated that. Open the freezer door then pull out...

I can't get it any where near buttery. Crumbly yes, but maybe I will have to roast the almonds and then give it a break when it gets so hot.

The recipes I found on-line said if the almonds were roasted, no oil needed. If they were not, then add oil.

Re: Almond Butter, Homemade - Anyone?

Yes, I think I am. It has a top that has long arms which go down into the jar and as the almonds are ground up, you twist the top so the arms against the inside of the jar moves the material around better as the blender is operating.

It's a mini-twister I think.
