Hi! I’d like to join the threads. This past weekend was our last show of the year. We have a few clinics coming up the next few weeks in between some travel I’ve got. We’ve been showing 3-3 this year and my trainer thinks we are ready for 4-1 but I’m less convinced! So the goals for the winter are c...

I have taken to removing the liner from my helmet after a ride and it is working so much better to allow it to fully dry before I ride the next day. I just leave it in the drawer or locker next to the helmet. (Wouldn’t help for multiple rides in a row.) I also ordered a second liner so I take it hom...

Iceland is amazing!! You will have a great time.
I got the chance to go in 2019 for a work trip and I was able to add several days for sightseeing onto the trip. It’s such an incredible place, so much beauty and such a different landscape than anywhere else I’d ever been.

Don’t do twin beds for adult guests, or make sure you have a thick topper so if pushed together you can’t tell it is two beds. It has nothing to do with nighttime activities. I’m tall and large and my feet hang off a twin and if I need to roll over I feel like I might roll off the bed. Not fun!

I have my own truck and trailer so don’t have to pay for hauling. Trailing in to a show and doing two classes is about $250 I think. A multi-day show with the trainer and barn which involves a stall and hotel room and tack stall and grooming fees could be $1000-1500.

Yeah, these tests are nothing like regular tests, so you can't compare. Like the scores for the dressage seat equitation class or the scores in breed classes. There are just 3 scores for each gait, submission, and perspective (potential as a dressage horse).

There is no state income tax in Texas, which I think makes property taxes a little higher. I have heard that the state also won't give you an agriculture exception just for horses, so that can also make property taxes higher. In North Texas you have to be really careful about location, as some areas...

Sure, but as someone who rides with more HJ than dressage, this isn't reality. No one can put the horse on the bit, or ride straight. YMMV. There are an awful lot of dressage riders who can neither keep their horse on the bit nor ride straight. A good h/j trainer should enhance the dressage with go...

I thought $2,500 on reading the post - her age, plus height, plus that she can sometimes act like an "alpha chestnut mare".
If she has clean changes anyone can get (not just the trainer) and has a recent good show record ridden by the owner (again not trainer) then maybe up to $5,000.

I don't care for either. The cut-out loses the power of the original, and ends up being clunky. You need a much more stylized outline of a horse to look good in a cut-out.
