In all fairness, I haven’t followed this thread in its entirety to know exactly what you’ve tried and didn’t like and what you want. I have no training goals this time around. I'm officially on maternity leave from riding. Come December, I'll be locking myself in the house and won't be leaving for much of anything. I have Phoenix in full training with my trainer through December. She rode her a few weeks ago with David Wightman, ...

My lesson last night was great. Nowhere near as painful as last week, so maybe I'm not quite done. I do get the feeling I can't do what I was doing, if I start asking for "more" from her, I felt hints of it...but if I just hacked around, I felt ok! Trainer and I talked about it, and what w...

I'm just heartbroken and sick to my stomach over all of this, and so, so scared. I spent weeks crying at the drop of a hat, and barely ate for what felt like months. After my riding lesson Tuesday, I think my riding time might be coming to an end until after he's born. I didn't think much of it, but at the clinic I got a sharp pain in my side once or twice but if I took a walk break it went away and I could go on. But my Tuesday lesson, the pains were there agai...

I don't have a ton of advice on how to know what you want, but I will say not to be afraid of looking in unconventional places as well. Sometimes you can find some real gems when people just don't know what they have. Phoenix for instance, a Friesian Sporthorse, was on Craigslist as a weanling for &...

Best Deworming Routine for High Shedder?

Phoenix has always been what my vet calls a high shedder, but it's getting annoyingly bad. Over a year ago, maybe even two years ago, I started her on a daily dose of Strongid C2X because she was constantly having high counts on her fecals. She's on a dose for a 1250-1500 lb horse. Its mostly worked...
