Re: I did it...my Iceland trip is booked

That's awesome! Many years ago my Mom wanted to make a little trip with me for her 60th birthday, and while I suggested Iceland, she picked another country instead. Still haven't been able to visit Iceland. My own 60th is coming up in a few years, so maybe I should work towards that, and bring my Mo...

Reading what happened to your beloved Meezer makes me irate and sick at the same time. I can't even think what I might have done in that situation, but it wouldn't have been pretty. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have two Meezers (not fancy purebreds, but Meezer look-alikes), and they're so dear to m...

Re: Bobcat on my trailcam (video!)

The turkeys were coming around on several days; the entire flock (30ish?) would also come in the yard and look for food under bird feeders, sometimes several times in a day. I just had to keep the dogs in so the turkeys could do their thing. Then one day the turkeys opted to come in from between the...

hoopoe - it's rare for me to get any daytime videos of the bobcats, usually the cams catch them at night. So, the coloring is really hard to see on the nighttime videos :( The other thing is that they're a rarity overall - it seems the most usual pattern is to see one for a couple of nights in a row...

Flight - Bobcats will run from people, they're really timid. Coyotes are a bit braver, but typically they also run as soon as they spot a human.

And yes, the limpy coyote is still around, and she looks to be in good health (weight wise).

No, I don't know what it was. Skunk is a possibility as it was black and white (or looked like it?), but from what I saw, it seemed more like a piece of hide, so it could have been from a cow, too. Your guess is as good as mine, I'm sure :)
