I picked up a pair of men's Justin lacers in bullhide on eBay after my last pair of Ariats. They wear like iron and can be resoled. Also Blundstones, but they are a little bulky so I don't normally ride in them.

Both white and cream will look dirty pretty quickly. I have a set of pro choice boots in white and I'm only going to use them for shows and clinics. Black looks better when not perfectly clean.

Ooh, I think I like that one best of the ones he's modeled so far (of course he'd look good in a baling twine bridle ;)).

Glad it's not HERDA! At least you learned about the PSSM early and can manage it right off. I suspect that my gelding is PSSM, and he does fine without any heroic measures; hopefully your guy is the same. He's lucky you scooped him up!

For a schooling pad, I'd avoid metallic piping. I have two with silver piping and they don't hold up very well to washing and daily use.

Thanks MLP! I am suspicious of the neoprene as well, but it's hard to separate out the effect of working up an actual sweat, sharing a girth, and using the neoprene. We have schooling type shows here like that called Event Derbies. Sometimes they are stadium and sometimes Xcountry all in one day, vs. a 2 or 3 day event.

Last night - fried green tomatoes, chorizo with leeks and collards, and homemade Sourdough the rolls. Dredged the tomatoes with potato starch I stead of flour and it worked great.
