Wondering if it's a horror movie as I and my friend cannot watch those types of films. Watching the trailer, this looks intriguing. Cannot watch anything too scarey/horror stuff.

It's more a psychological thriller. But at the end it gets a bit creepy in places.
formerly known as "Deanna" on UDBB -- and prior to that, as "DJD".

My Aunty was telling me she was feeling down so took herself to the movies and saw this, not knowing what it was about. She said it was more a horror and wasn't quite what she expected! Sounds like an interesting movie though.

Thanks for reminding me about this, I heard a story about it on the radio and it sounded well done.
Isn't it loosely related to some previous movies (I haven't seen) that the director had done? - seemed to have a "cult" following.

I loved it!
I'd call it suspense, not horror. Think Misery, not Saw. Definitely jumped in surprise a few times and was on the edge of my seat. If you like suspense, it's fantastic.
Yes, psychological thriller is another good description.

It is based in the same world as Cloverfield (the previous movie), but a totally different type of movie.

Well, I never saw Cloverfield but I do enjoy psychological thrillers, edge of your seat thrillers - NOT Halloween type horror movies. Saw Halloween with a guy I had just started dating. Made him sleep on the couch for two nights before I could stay alone, hehehehe. He was a sport about it. Even so, had nightmares for a couple of weeks thereafter. Won't do again, ugh.
Thanks! Am going to put it on my queue.
