Can we please get...

Can we please get...
...a favicon for DDBB? I am so used to keeping my BBs tabbed, having a recognizable graphic would be much appreciated.
And, it would seem a little bit like home <sniff>.
PS - it seems after the initial whirlwind, traffic on UDBB ob Facebook has dropped off considerably.

Re: Can we please get...
I find this a much more readable format than UDBB on FB.
What's a favicon, Maple?

Yes, I find this easier as well!
Re: Can we please get...
It's the little graphic icon that marks a saved site. On the bookmark bar and in front of the URL.
Facebook is pretty hopeless for threaded conversations.

Yup, when the UDBB went belly up, I mourned giving up the favicon for a generic "page" icon...is that a genericon? My favorites bar just doesn't feel the same.

Re: Can we please get...
Right now, I am at a friends wedding in Maine and I am trying to keep ahead of the technical stuff. I will try to do this eventually....but I would appreciate keeping all this stuff in the thread at the top of the forums. That is my to do list.

Chancellor,
Add the following to the <head> section of the bulletin board:
And add the attached file to the root folder: (unzip it first to extract the favicon.ico file - couldn't attach it here as is)
Just noticed your comment about adding to the sticky post, so I added a copy of this post to that one.

Re: Can we please get...
Thanks Helygen. I will do that. I'm not sure how easy it is with PHPBB though. There are a ton of html files to figure out.
Re: Can we please get...
There should only be one file that has the <head> tag (may even be in head.php, index.php, or page.php) and then you'll just need to add that bit of code before the closing </head> tag.
One program that I find really helpful for sorting through oodles of code is called Agent Ransack, it's free and really easy to use. Saves so much time but will only work if you have the code on your computer...

Helygen,
I am a programmer by trade so know tons about html etc. I am still trying to adjust to the PHP thing since I am a windows programmer in real life. While I wrote PHP years ago, I haven't in a very long time....And then there is the little matter of time.

...it's there!

Yay! Thank you, Chancellor, for chipping away at our requests.
FWIW, I had to delete my browsing history to get it to show up; rebooting was not enough.

No problem Chancellor - hazard of my daily job providing technical support specifically with PHP. I don't assume any level of knowledge so just offered some direction to save you some time hunting.
