Say hello to baby Kai :)

Hi guys,

As some of you know, I was due with Baby B no. 2 on October 7th. Baby Kai arrived at 1:52 on October 6th, after 18 hours of labour, weighing in at 6 lb 13 oz. I managed to avoid a c-section this time around, for which I am profoundly grateful. :)

He's now 10 days old and is doing wonderfully, and big brother Max is being everything a big brother should be.

And, I know this is worthless without pics, so here you go. :) The one of hubby and Kai and I is from 20 minutes after he was born.

And the icing on the cake is.... I rode today!!! Bliss was perfect and I felt great. Woohoo!!! :)

Congratulations! He is adorable. And I have to say what a funny coincidence: he was born on my youngest daughter's birthday (she is freshly turned 19) and he weighed exactly what she weighed at birth!

Thank-you all very much for your well wishes!! Kai is growing like a weed. Just found out today he's put on 13oz in the past 7 days!!

I am not particularly strong or tough... I was blessed both times with very healthy pregnancies and this time got to have a natural birth and was lucky enough to have very minimal damage so I felt more than ready to ride. :) I am not hard at it yet though... I think I will take at least a few months (and possibly all winter) to focus on my family and only ride once a week or so while Bliss is in training. :)

Speaking of Bliss, he was so wonderful for my ride. It was windy and cold and there were lots of distractions but he didn't put a foot wrong and looked right after me, bless him!!

And Rhiannon, I have to laugh. That glow is the result of having spent the previous hour and a half doing a rather intense workout... pushing!!!
