The garage door in the walk out basement was removed and we sealed it up with T1-11 and 2"x8"s and walk thru door. It faces West and receives the hot afternoon sun. Small space, 9'x7', the rest is cinder block.
I am wanting to keep the lower level cool as much as possible during the summer months. Living in NW lower MI, we have sever winters at times.
Wondering about radiant heat barrier for between the 2x8 studs and then adding faced fiber glass insulation. Is this a good idea? Been wanting to do the attic with the radiant heat barrier between the ceiling rafters but have not done it.
The basement wall (where the garage door was) now needs to be insulated and would appreciate your help with this. The rest of the basement is cinder block all around, one other walk thru door that is never used and a wall down the center separating the basement side from the garage side with a walk thru door. House is 32'x32' outside dimensions.
Thank you.
