Taking a clip from a video

I have a 1.7gb MTS file I'd like to pull some short clips out of.

I have NO idea how to do this!

The MTS file is usually the file format that a video camera records in.

I use Apple for video and import the file into "iMovie" which is a video editing software application that comes with most Macs nowadays. The process is complicated enough I that I wouldn't even try to explain it in a text posting. I would recommend you Google search for MTS file, read up on the file and it's uses. When I checked a few minutes, there were a number of conversion utilities that might be simpler than loading into iMove or the Window's equivalent.

There also appeared to be some YouTube "How to" videos listed.

yes, I realized after I posted this that it was a bit more complicated :) I have a couple of software options to look at when I have a brain tormorrow...

Most programs are really easy once you get the hang of it. Just need that bit of time to do it at first.

Agreed. I've used several different ones and they are all mostly similar.
