Anyone watching.... Game of Thrones???

Postby Rosie B » Wed Jun 22, 2016 11:32 am

I'm sure this has been done to death, but I love this show!! I just got caught up on the most recent episode last night. Ahhhh karma. :)

I read the books in 2013, and didn't start watching the show until 2014, but it's my current favourite.

Anyone else watching??

YES!
Trying not to say any spoilers in case others not up to date read, but it was pretty graphically filmed, that last episode! Just right in amongst it all.
I'm a bit put off by violence thesedays, but I have to say it gave some appreciation to that type of warfare.

Yes, I hear you. That's the one thing I DON'T like about the show. I just squint until the gory bits are over, or get hubby to tell me when they're over (if they're super disturbing).

As a mother of a young son, there have been some scenes that I am completely uninterested in watching... Flight I'm sure you know which one I mean in particular... from this season...

I am forced to watch it due to the fashion of my husband. To me its a games of hiw many people can we kill this episode.

I do enjoy trying to work out which bit if history George Martin plagiarized since he does not seem to have a unique thought.

Some parts are very convincingly portrayed and I think the actors manage to make you care about what happens to them.

For examples Brianne not really a main character but one I care about.

Everyone seems to love the dragon woman, but I cannot get to excited about her.

I started out liking Arya and disliking Sansa, but they are developing the characters in opposite directions now. I am sure that will find a way to kill everyone I begin to care about, because that's seems to be his method. Oh and making people so hateful that you can feel good about the grisly psychopathic way he kills them .

I love the books and the show. This show is one of the few that rivals the books. He does have a way of making you start liking hateful characters - Jaime Lannister....

I'm glad they've moved away from the soft core porn this season. The sex scenes in HBO shows get a little tiresome.

Chisamba - I totally agree with most of the things you're saying...

Although - Some of the most disgusting/barbaric/psychopathic things that happened in the show were not present in the books, so I don't think GRRM is 100% to blame for that...

Although he is excellent at making people hateful!!

I love GoT. I think season 6 has been the best! It will be interesting to see how it parallels the next book in the series. Hope George gets it published before season 7.
