Even with mistakes, Charlotte and Valegro are comfortably in the lead. That is what happens when a boatload of the other scores are 10s!

Yes, it's a lesson to us that compete in dressage and who get stuck on The Thing We Can't Do... Spend a bit more time on perfecting the things you are already pretty darned good at, and the things that you don't need mad skillz to get decent scores on, and cut yourself some slack on the odd safe 6...

Yes, there was a mistake in the 2-tempis near the end of the diagonal (he missed one, then erupted into 2-3 one-tempis which put a smile on Charlotte's face from what I could see). Then he broke to a very collected canter (1-stride) twice in the final passage before the halt-salute. Aside from that, it was a beautiful test and the score, imo, was well earned.

Carl's test on Nip Tuck was lovely, too!

I saw Charolette/Valegro and like 4 or 5 more rides. What amazed me was how many riders rode inaccurate figures at that level of competition! Like one rider who was staring at her horse's neck on a short diagonal and almost completely missed K. Goes to show that no matter how long you compete or at what level, ya still gotta remember to look up and ride to the letters.

At any rate, thanks for sharing.

Well, that was pretty much faultless, whether or not the music did anything for you.

I love the way Valegro is so damned pleased with himself, grinning to his fans when he has finished :)

I thought it was superb. The music wasn't as flattering (I thought) as the last freestyle, but it was still superb.

I agree completely, I LOVE how Valegro walks out of the ring!!
