The New Pony, The Other Cow Pony and The Little Mare

Since everyone is asking ... Yup, I bought a new horse!
I am pinching myself because right now I consider myself the luckiest girl alive.
The Other Cow Pony and I had been chugging along, but had a really hard time cracking the second level nut. In fact hit a big fat horrible wall. It just kept getting worse and worse.
I had shown The Exploding Pony second level a bit, The Little Mare broke right at second level, so here I was, stuck ... Again.
Frankly, my confidence was shaken. I was afraid, frustrated and miserable. So I started thinking last fall that I should look at schoolmasters.
I was not even remotely serious and I found The One. I went to try him so I could decide I really couldn't buy him. I mean this is crazy, I already own two horses and work full time. Nope, had to have him. Took a few months for it to all come together but I am so incredibly glad that I took the leap. If not now, when? I figured this was my early 50th b-day present to myself.
In the meantime I changed trainers ... Because why not put your entire horse life in the blender at once.
He is an imported German riding pony that outgrew the ponies, owned/shown to PSG in the US by Kari McClain. Those of you for the PNW probably recognize him now. I am currently trying to figure out how to ride the third level stuff. It's going to take me awhile, but he is amazing, incredibly fun and safe, and I can't even believe he is mine
In the category of unbelievable horse situations, The Little Mare is now sound and back to work after a six year vacation. I have been afraid to even say those words out loud, but if all goes well, I am going to trot her down centerline in our first show in a couple of weeks. I haven't mentioned it because I am absolutely terrified that it will all fall apart again if I really believe that she is back.
The Other Cow Pony and I are finally starting to figure out second level and most importantly we are having a blast again. Trail riding, snuggling and sort of figuring out simple changes.
Found my confidence again and remembered why I love this sport so incredibly much.
So that's my ridiculous story of how I ended up with three amazing horses
