Riding with the brumbies

I managed a few days away camping up the mountains to go trail riding with friends. Kicking myself for not taking the gopro, but had some great rides and took heaps of photos. I was worried that my horse might not be fit enough or get a bit footsore (not shod) but truly it felt like this is what horses are built for.
There's lots of brumbies around, although you get a lot closer on foot or by car as they often get chased on horseback.
Less talk, more pics!

Cool! How did your horse react to the brumbies?

He got up on his toes a bit and his mane went wild, but the brumbies take off as soon as they see us, so they are out of sight in no time.

How great! And yes, this IS what horses are meant for, too. The Brumbies are in really good shape!

Yes, there are some that get caught and started under saddle. It's more the people that are trail/stock riders that do this. They do salt traps and catch herds and send them through auctions. A few get turned into riding horses that way too.
