Oh yeah. Boise is like 99.4 % totality. That is close enough for me. Most of the little Idaho towns in the swath of totality are bracing for the onslaught. They really don't have the infrastructure for that many people.

I saw that Alaska Airlines is doing a flight that goes off the Oregon coast...invitation only for astronomers and scientists. Now that would be sweet.

Me...I am heading to the barn to see what the horses do when it gets dark 3-4 hrs after sunrise .

My house is like 62% totality but still enough to get a change in light.

We're at 99.33% in Deadwood, Oregon

We're at 97.4% in Paul, Idaho
Pretty sure there are no camping spaces available between Boise and Idaho Falls. Lol

ETA: I was in high school the last time the eclipse passed over Idaho. We all stood out on the lawn watching it go. Don't recall all the hub bub that is preceding this one though.

I'll be 150 miles from the total eclipse path that week, so I'm planning a road trip.

I saw the one in 1992 (?) It was total in our area. Don't expect it to be DARK. The sun spills so much light that the skies will darken, but not be dark. Hoping for clear skies for ya'll!

You folks lucky enough to be in the path of 'totality' might want to consider renting out a room/stall/camping spot on your driveway/electrical outlet for RV hook-up for the event Could result in some nice mad money...!

We are right in the middle of the path in eastern Tennessee. Work is on the edge of the path, so we need to get home early on the 21st to enjoy!

And no, we are not renting out our RV shed with electrical and water or putting up an "Eclipse Camping" sign But if DDers are in the area, get in touch

Many public libraries in the path of the eclipse will have free, certified sunglasses for viewing the eclipse. Google it to find them. (Hendersonville NC public library, libraries in Greenville, SC, etc.).

I am getting more excited as the date approaches. I've seen a number of partial eclipses but nothing like this.

I just booked a flight for me and the kids to visit my parents that week. They are in the Portland OR area with 98%+ coverage. Well over a year ago, my dad asked if we should book a campsite somewhere with 100% because he's a big science/nature guy. I'd just had a baby so it was the farthest thing from my mind. I remember having a riding lesson during a solar eclipse in the early 1990s and didn't realize what a big deal it was or that you could go someplace where it would be a total eclipse (I was at about 70-80% for that one). Now that I know a little more about it, I'm excited! But all the hotels and campgrounds in the 100% band are booked, plus that kind of outing with my kids, no thank you. So my parents' town and 98% it is!

Probably 15-20 years ago, we were all talking about solar eclipses and my grandma said she'd never seen one because you always have to get up in the middle of the night to see it. We got a pretty good laugh at that.
