Shareboard fell through
I was all excited 2 weeks ago about shareboarding on pretty much the perfect horse for me. Unfortunately I decided I was not the right person for that particular situation. I don't want to go into any details, but suffice it to say the owner and I were not a good match. I spent the better part of last week hysterical and smoking (I quit smoking years ago, but still have the occasional cigarette in stressful times).
I'm much better now, but a bit sad about not riding. I guess I'll just keep on looking. P.S. I'm not smoking now.

Awww, man that sucks!
Re: Shareboard fell through
Oh, no - I'm sorry that your shareboard did not work out. I hope you find another soon where the horse AND owner are a perfect match. Horses are so good for our souls.
And quit smoking; do something healthy like eating a bunch of red meat!

Better you found out now. Small consolation, but some. Good luck next time.

Awww, I'm sorry Paula. Maybe this just means that something better is just waiting around the corner.

Re: Shareboard fell through
Glad you got out of the situation quickly, definitely sounds like something about it wasn't the right fit.
Re: Shareboard fell through
Sorry it did not work out. Keep looking, the right horse and owner are out there!
Re: Shareboard fell through
I'm sorry to hear this. I know how much you were looking forward to working with another horse and riding again. If nothing else, at least now you know that you're mentally/emotionally ready for the right situation to present itself.

NO SMOKING! I'm really sorry it fell through. Rhianon is right -- better you found out now that it wasn't going to work. I'm sure that the right horse, one that comes equipped with the right person, will come along soon.
Re: Shareboard fell through
Smoking is never the answer.
I agree with above posters that it's better you found out now. Something else will happen. Just keep looking. Something else always happens.

Re: Shareboard fell through
As a long time time leasor, i know that a match with the owner is just if not more important as a match with the horse (hey, I'm flexible with animals).
I hope a better situation arises soon!

Disappointing yes, but the right match is out there and now you know you want to look for it. Glad you are not smoking now

Re: Shareboard fell through
Oh gosh yes, the fit must be good between you all, and good for you for putting the brakes on sooner rather than later.
The better situation is out there and will find its way to you.

I have learned 4 lessons from this: 1. Horse people are crazy (I include myself in that
) 2. I still have the passion for horses 3. The grief of Bob's crossing and all excess baggage associated with it is behind me 4. Curb my enthusiasm
I will casually look for the right opportunity. I don't need to rush, and I know Bob will send me the right partner.

I am sorry, do not give up (except the smoking, lol, give up the smoking) but do not give up looking for a horsey situation that makes you happy.

I am interested in this part of it. How have you managed that? I feel like I have a long way to go to get to that point.

I'm in the same boat. I keep looking for the right horse to come along but I have yet to find the right one. I thought I had a good one but he got sold before I could get him,.
