Who is going to WEG?
I just ordered my tickets this morning and reserved my hotel room last night! So excited. I LOVED going to WEG in KY. I hope Tryon can do as good a job....although, there do seem to be some issues.
For instance, they are choosing the seats for you.

When is WEG? Are you going just to dressage?

WEG is next year in September. But some hotels are already sold out! And tickets went on sale today
I've been toying with the idea of getting XCountry tickets but my husband might want a break from horses one day!

I've got a ticket, but will have to see closer til what is going on with my school schedule. I should be enrolled in my Associates program by then. I REALLY hope I get to go, Omaha was a blast this year!

Re: Who is going to WEG?
I live fairly close to the venue, but I'm annoyed at the ticket sales process and the price hikes. And the hotel offerings. So I may skip. Will it really be that fun, Chancellor? I know I will not bring my DH unless we watch eventing. I already hate that I pay more for a decent hotel in Asheville than I do in Paris...

Piedmontfields, we had so much fun at WEG in KY. Even Michael did.

Chancellor, what is your advice for ticket purchasing? How many days are you doing? Just dressage or multiple events?
And why is driving so cheap compared to dressage???? (driving is super cool)

Michael and I got the dressage package. My guess is that driving tix are cheap because they aren't as much in demand. I'd go to watch driving but I don't know enough to know what I am watching!
I'm not thrilled with the way they are doing the tickets. But what choice do I have?

Me me me me me!
We booked our hotel a few weeks ago as we have business partners in Asheville so hubby will do some business there while I'm watching the dressage.
I've just purchased the dressage package, any idea when the opening ceremony tickets will be available?
It'd be great to catch up with some of you while I'm in the area.

Re: Who is going to WEG?
I see the day passes are already sold out, I think that would have been a fun way to see it, with a bit of this and that. Maybe some will come up for resale.
Re: Who is going to WEG?
I had planned on it but dang the ticket prices are just outrageous so think I will sit it out.
Re: Who is going to WEG?
I am going with a tour group (I have travelled with them beofre). Didn't want the hassle of distant hotel rooms , driving and parking..... etc etc. Besides it's always a nice group and we have dinners and "activities" planned..... Equestrian Tours LLC
Re: Who is going to WEG?
Chancellor, driving is just like eventing. There is a dressage phase (same expectations as ridden dressage), Cones (timed course of gates to maneuver through) and Marathon - timed with BIG cross country type obstacles. Very exciting.

Oh, I know. I'd love to watch it but the ticket prices are a bit ridiculous and I have to think of my husband and do some non-horsy stuff!
Re: Who is going to WEG?
Will they have buses or shuttles from places like Asheville etc? Or am I going to need to get a rental car?
