Domestic goddess cleaning question

Life on the farm, first real rain of the year, thoughts turn to things I've ignored through the long summer. Paperwork, paddock maintenance, window tracks.

Those of you who don't have a repository of dirt and the odd dead bug in your window and sliding glass door tracks, how do you accomplish this? I imagine the same applies to sliding closet door tracks. My friend who is an OCD cleaning freak says windex and q-tips. I'm thinking steam jet and needle nose attachment on shop vac. The solution is probably somewhere in between those two. What say you?

I usually use a diluted liquid cleaner and q-tips. Before I found q-tips I used a wet rag and a butter knife. I don't think the shop vac will get the fine dust and get it really, goddess worthy clean.
