Sunday morning Australian time I climb on a plane and head for the states and land in LA hours before I leave. WEG here I come. So excited to go to another WEG. My bags are just about packed and I have finished my shopping much to hubbies relief. Nails done in green and gold and hair done. Just dentist appointment tomorrow and osteopath Friday to make sure I am smick.

We are leaving on Friday night for WEG and a short holiday, I'm only going to the stressage as I'm short on free time and need to get back to NZ. First WEG for me and probably the last too...

Hope we can all catch up while we are there! It'd be great to put some faces to the names.

I've organised a shuttle from Asheville to the Tryon grounds for Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sun for the stressage so if anyone needs a ride for that or any of the other disciplines please book it now so it goes ahead and we can get there!

6 days for me! It will be my first ever commercial flight so I'm relieved to be going with several other ladies from my barn to "hold my hand" through the process. We also only have dressage tickets. This will be my first WEG, although I did attend the World Cup in 2017. Hoping for many more in the future! If a meet-up is planned, it would indeed be wonderful to place some faces to names!

Give me an email sometime and maybe we can hookup at the WEG. I used to have a friend who lived in Bendigo, but we lost touch quite a while ago. I need another Aussie Pal! I've got dressage, 3-day and driving tickets, and I think some showjumping (friend got all access passes)

Michael and I have just decided NOT to go. Category 4 hurricane? Yeah, not too sure of that

I would recommend everyone attending be alert for sudden cancelation. The NC state government is close to a panic and over night, the computer models suddenly started showing a possible solution of Florence crossing the coast at Wilmington, and then turning due west about the middle of the state. While the National Hurricane Center hasn't embraced that solution, if it does, I imagine WEG will be one of the may events that will be forced to cancel.

Yes, depending on the storm track and speed, it could be soggy mess with area flooding.

My trip to WEG was cancelled - so sad about this.

The friend that I was traveling with has been having some recent health issues and isn't up for the trip.

I wonder if they will refund if it gets cancelled? It would be nice to recoup some of that money!

Well, we (me and the people from my barn) are here. Arrived in Charlotte around 1. Hoping for the best! It’ll really be a bummer if things get canceled.
We subscribed to text message updates from WEG and so far everything is on schedule for tomorrow.

Our hotel is in Asheville, and our seats are under the overhang.
Nice weather so far today, cloudy and looks like rain but that’s serving to cool it off. Only about 74 degrees at the moment.
ETA: The hotel specifically is Country Inn in Asheville.

Sorry, missed this, I was a little busy visiting you all. I had a ball and would return again if they held WEG there again. People were lovely, venue will be lovely and the horses were lovely.
Flo was just plain rude but that can't be helped.
