Help me name my puppy

Postby Sue B » Fri Mar 01, 2019 10:42 pm

Okay, I finally gave in and decided to adopt this little girl. She was another parvo puppy but didn't get real sick luckily. She's back in the clinic because she has giardia (and she's the last of her litter), no one wants her and the pound knows I'm a sucker for cute faces. They say she's german shorthair / blue heeler cross, but who knows.

I do see the Heeler in there - the combo of blue "spots" and red hues on white does it. Our younger dog is a Heeler cross ( X BC), too, but she doesn't have the red at all.

She looks really stout on her chest - do GSPs have that?

And cute as a button for sure!

She's gonna be like an Energizer Bunny, so a name along those lines would be right on... Zip was the Heeler in "Last of the Dogmen".

For some reason Memphis popped into my head before I even read this thread.

Does she by chance have any siblings needing homes? I know someone looking for a cow dog cross.

She is going to be a beauty.
Keep calm and canter on.

I like your name suggestion :D

Heelers ARE busy dogs, so busy Bee would be a very fitting name!

I have a very busy English Pointer named Beetle, in part because he is a busy bee! (+ he has a shiny black head like a Beetle) We also call him "B", "Beetle Bug" and "BB Pointer."

She was the last one needing a home. There are always lots of "working" dogs at our shelter, however. Minidoka Joint Powers Animal Shelter--find it on Facebook. ;)

So, the kids at church liked Livvy and Sally, my DH wants Sally and DS came up with Ripley this morning. Thank you for all the suggestions. I just have to wait for the little gal to pick her name I guess. I liked BB but both DH and DS rejected it outright. Memphis is a cool name, sf.

I'm leaning towards Ripley because I love the Alien movies.

Ripley - reminds me of Ripley's Believe it or Not......so it's not one I'd prefer.

I do like LIvvy and BB. She does look like she has some liver colored hair on her legs. Memphis is nice too.

I'm hoping my next dog comes with a name! LOL.......

I never liked when anyone named their horse/dog/cat a people name, yet my mare came with a people name, many asked if I was going to change it - Heck NO - I loved her name....
