"And how was your day?"

Postby Moutaineer » Thu Jul 18, 2019 4:12 am

Mine's been... messy.

Today was the day that my nice new custom frameless shower door that I've been waiting ages for was to be installed. I was out--left the DH in charge.

The guys came, they removed my old shower door. They went back downstairs and got the new shower door. They took it upstairs... and they dropped it. In my bathroom. Where it shattered spectacularly into a million smithereens--shards of glass everywhere. It's even between the window and window screen.

I've swept, I've vacuumed three times, wiped down the countertops, vacuumed out the shower, you name it...! I think I am now glass-shard free, until I find I'm not, I guess.

Of course, it was a custom item. It was supposedly tempered glass (though I have to say I'm a bit shocked at the shards for tempered glass--but, did you know that you have to be really careful not to bonk the edge of tempered glass?) So I've now got to wait for a new one to be made. In the mean time, no shower door.

I know, accidents happen, but broken glass all over the bathroom? Yikes!

Oh no! That does not sound like fun. They didn’t put your old one back on while you wait for another?

I have to admit, my day was better than this. Why couldn't they put the old door back on?
