It appears my dog has badly sprained his right front leg at the wrist/ankle. It's Saturday afternoon. I did a quick search and found Benadryl is supposed to be ok to use as a bit of a pain killer, but does anyone have any other suggestions? He's really hurting - acknowledging that he's a bit of a baby about pain - and if it's not better by Monday I'll take him to the vet.
The Benadryl doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Re: Dog Sprained Wrist
On one hand, the pain will keep your dog quiet (if they are fools like my pointers). Rest will help healing.
On the other hand, I usually have some rimadyl on hand for these things. Your dog should be much improved by Monday when you call the vet--if not, you have a different problem.

That's what I'm thinking and doing.
