So glad you found a wonderful family member. IMHO, they never completely take the place of those who went before them, yet we are often able to build on those experiences and memories to create a new place to receive them in our hearts and souls.

Her name is Maple~ we think she is a beagle x doxie (Dashaund). She's very pretty and fine boned. the perfect 24 lbs
Chestnut, white and black. Lots of black
Same chestnut as my horse riot!
