til retirement. I don't know how I feel. I alternate between "I cannot wait" and "I'm gonna throw up." I just want it over. I want to smoke (but I won't). I have to turn my ID badge in to my boss, who will be at my location on my last day. She'll be here at 3:30.

It’s probably shocking to you. I think that is normal.

But as long as finances say you are good to go, you are. It is real change and you can do it!!

It would feel surreal finishing work for good. It makes me excited to think about it though! I have a few more years yet...

One more week, how exciting! Think of all the quality time you'll get to spend with Miss A. :D

I've got 12.5 years to hit minimum retirement age, but who knows what will be happening by then.

My boss sent me an Outlook invite for 3:30 on my last day to pick up my badge and “maybe” have a celebratory drink. I replied I wouldn’t be returning after lunch and my badge will be on my desk for her to pick up at her convenience. Like I’m gonna stick around and wait for her.

I said I wasn't going to cry but someone is chopping onions in here. My friend gave me a beautiful card, a massage gift certificate, and a Halloween decoration of hers that I have coveted for many years. sniff.

I was out of the house by 8 am for my chiro appointment. Then I worked out at the gym next to the hospital and I felt nothing when I drove by. Picked up my British pounds for my trip, hit WalMart, then home for a Smuckers Uncrustable followed by a nap. I’m exhausted!

Ditto on just using ATMs abroad (while being aware of skimmers and also notifying your bank that you will do so).

Enjoy, Paula!
