"Lord of the Rings" Wedding shower?

So, my best friend is getting married and I have been tasked with throwing a wedding shower. She is a huge LOTR fan and I was thinking it might be cute to do her shower themed off the "One ring" and make it a funny twist on a wedding ring.
Am I crazy? Is there a way to tactfully do this? I'm wide open for suggestions!

I don't know, a huge banner saying "One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, And in the darkness bind them." would probably be a bit of a downer at a wedding shower.

I was actually thinking it might be cute to "re-write" that to make it cute instead but still carry the flow of the original. I'm not sure what that looks like though. Maybe its a bad idea. LOL
Or maybe I just give up the "one ring" idea and make it more lighthearted hobbits and the shire.

I think it would be cute to rewrite the poem to be more of an upbeat, and go with the LOTR theme. let everyone dress as their favorite LOTR character. I would have a blast at such a party

Living 5 minutes away from "hobbiton" the film location, and current major attraction to the area. There are a lot of weddings which take place, full LOTR /hobbit costume on the film set.
So while I find it insane. Many people obviously think it's a great idea.
So if she is a major fan, why not... Go for it!
( I've only ever seen the first 5 mins of LOTR and the hobbit before I fell asleep... So I can't comment too much on this subject!)

(I do like the hobbit/Shire idea, though! The fun decorations and lightheartedness!)
