Urgent nationwide recall issued medication - Adequan

Someone forwarded this link today warning about recent Adequan recall. I thought to post here if anyone has other information or uses these products and warning details. It doesn't sound like a scam.....

Apparently it is not an issue with the actual medication but with the vials the medication is in. And those vials are only the multi-dose vials. Meaning, if you get the kind where there are many tiny vials-- each vial its own dose those are fine. It's the larger multi-dose containers that have an issue.

That’s interesting because June adequan injection I gave Joplin out if a multi dose vial. A friend was using it for her older gelding (Chex’s owner) to do loading dose of adequan. She had a reaction was neck sore which she usually isn’t after an adequan injection. Hex did not have reaction. Nor did the older gelding.

Blob that’s not how I read it looks like the equine vials are the single dose vials is affected . The dog vial is multi dose vial that is affected.

I use single dose vials usually for Joplin and Chex.

Khall-- i went back and looked and you're right. The chart in the FDA link says multi-dose vial. But then the product label says single-dose. So I went and looked at other sites and they all say single-dose so that chart that I was focused on must be a typo.

RP got adequan last month via the single-dose vials. I thankfully did not notice any ill effects. So hopefully i got lucky and didn't have a contaminated batch of vials.
