Mare issues--ovarian tumor

Reid and Associates Equine Medicine and Surgery

Any mare can have a bad day, but when you are experiencing behavioral swings or fertility issues there may be an underlying cause. One possibility is granulosa-theca cell ovarian tumors, known to affect a mare’s estrus cycle and even cause lameness, recurrent colic, and occasionally stallion-like or bizarre behaviors.
