NIRS versus wet chemistry for hay analysis?

Postby ironbessflint » Wed Jun 17, 2020 6:11 pm

We're baling tonight so in a few weeks I'll be getting ready to send in a new round of hay samples for analysis. Does anybody have strong opinions about near infrared reflectance spectroscopy versus wet chemistry for testing method? I keep hearing NIRS has come a long way in accuracy. I don't have any difficult nutrition issues where anything might be critical, but I don't want to waste money on poor results either.
