We are expecting in June! **Baby Photos!**
I keep meaning to post this and getting side tracked!
We're expecting a little one June 25! We find out the sex in a couple of weeks.
At that time hubby will be leaving his job, working part time for me, and mainly being a SAHD. We'll be mostly in Ohio, winter in the Carolinas, and I'm hoping to slow down on the crazy travel schedule for a few years until the kid is old enough to enjoy it!
I'm crazy sick - I have Hypermesis and it doesn't get better like morning sickness does, but otherwise baby and I are doing great!

Well, aren't you fancy? Have to have the same pregnancy complication as the Duchess of Cambridge!

There is joy in pregnancy?
So far, I'm having no complications that are hurting the baby, just stuff that's a PITA for me. I'm so thankful that none of the scary stuff is happening so far!
Thanks all! I'm really excited to have our little one and the adventures that will come with this chapter in our life. It's pretty scary, too!

Re: We are expecting in June!
So... a little bit of an update.
As kiddo has gotten larger, the hypermesis has gotten more severe (normal, to be expected, but still pretty crappy). My insurance also quit paying for the medication dose and delivery that worked best for me January 1st and the new medication just didn't help as much. I ended up with a few days in the hospital last week and my OB fought to get my medicine approved, and won. After another $8000 hospital bill and two days in.
I'm also on my second kidney and bladder infection, I'm struggling with an interstitial cystitis flare, my right kidney is being pushed into my rib cage by the baby and the cysts in it are causing a lot of pain.
Baby's kidneys are also very large. Not enlarged, not dilated, but over 50% larger than they should be. We have yet another ultrasound for him 4/12 and my fluid is a bit high, but nothing alarming.
Most days, I'm still able to get done what has to be done. Today, I've spent in bed - I'm running a fever, feel like I got hit by a truck, and I've slept all day. Can't wait for this kiddo to be here and pregnancy to be over!

Re: We are expecting in June!
Kiddo is a he - Austin!
Yeah, this hasn't been an easy pregnancy and I'm done, so done. My body isn't cut out for pregnancy and we're never, ever, ever doing this again. I think it would kill me next time since the stuff I'm struggling with usually gets worse with each pregnancy.
Upside - I haven't gained much weight (11lbs total - I've been dropping weight the last month or two).

VLF, you take care of yourself (I know you are). I know Austin is safe but so not easy on you. My old hair stylist went through a similar pregnancy with her first daughter who ended up just fine Second pregnancy she didn't have any of the problems she'd had with the first...

Jingles, good vibes, happy thoughts, pixie dust, whatever you believe in please! I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am for induction.
All of the sudden it's very, very, very real that I'm having a baby tomorrow and I'm terrified!

It will go well and you'll have Austin in your arms before you know it.
Pictures, of course (of Austin, of course, don't need the rest )
Will be thinking of you tomorrow and waiting patiently (well, impatiently) for an update!!!

Good luck!! I was induced for all 3 of mine, it was kind of nice to already be in the hospital for all the stages of labour, vs 'should we go now??". Will keep you in my thoughts!

Mom is up to photograph the birth and newborn stuff. We *just* got around to maternity photos tonight and I'm a whale, by my adjusted due date I'm three days overdue and measuring 44 weeks right now. I can't wait to eat without medication, and eat real food.
Re: We are expecting in June! **Being Induced**
Good luck!!!! Very exciting
Re: We are expecting in June! **Being Induced**
Good luck!!!! It's terrifying to think about but before long you'll be wondering how you ever lived without him.

When I was induced it took 24 hours. It's not always quick.

Re: We are expecting in June! **Being Induced**
I've been kind of busy this week!
My induction was so... not easy, but as inductions and labor go, it was pretty easy. 8 hours of labor, very little damage, I'm cleared to shoot part of a wedding this weekend - in fact I have no restrictions other than the usual no sex for six weeks. LOL I feel so much better!
I'll try and post some photos Sunday. I have maternity from Sunday last week, birth, and hospital newborn stuff. We've got to do a real newborn shoot next week!

VLF, so glad to hear you and little Austin are ok!!!
I knew you were busy but as Friday afternoon rolled around started to worry just a bit and knew this BB would not be your top priority.
So glad to hear everything ended up well and yes, as you have time, pictures!!!
OMG, you're really out working this weekend???
Looking forward to the real newborn shoot photos!

Fried Ravioli from one of the 'best' pizza places in the world, a philly cheesesteak from the same little joint, and a coke. I ate everything in the hospital and ended up with a colicy, unhappy baby Wednesday.
So, I can eat, but I still have to watch my acidic foods.
A wheat beer a day helps milk supply, so I'm enjoying THAT!

Re: We are expecting in June! **Being Induced**
This was Sunday night at the Marblehead Light thanks to mom and hubby. I was so miserable, but we hadn't done any maternity photos since about 22 weeks in March!
Mom photographed my birth. Pit was started at 9am. I was slightly dehydrated, so they did give me most of a bag of fluids, but I ate and drank throughout labor. I was allowed water only in the pushing. I labored in my own clothes, in the shower and on a ball, until about 3pm and I was exhausted, things were intense and I was having non stop back labor. They offered a fentanyl pump and I took it - since it can sedate baby we didn't get much skin to skin and we couldn't delay the cord cutting because he went to be checked out.
Mom photographed the entire day, but around 3pm I took all my clothes off and labored naked. LOL So, those images aren't anything I'm wanting to share.
He nursed from the time he was on my chest, though! And, he came out screaming.
So, a total of 9ish hours of labor, a slight tear, and I had a baby!
This was Tuesday in the hospital. I wanted out so bad, but they had to keep us a full 24 hours, so we had to stay since he was born so late Monday. I didn't need any pain medication after birth and they forgot my lidocaine spray when they took me to the room.
I had a super chill bride on Saturday that hubby was shooting her wedding, so Austin and I went to shoot details. It was pretty hot, and we worked about three hours before I left - hubby had a ten hour day.
