Yeah, that is completely awful. There is snow and ice in Charleston SC and Savannah GA---truly bizarre.

Be safe everyone!

It always seems odd when our weather ends up in places it shouldn't be.

I didn't waste my effort to convert my tractor from mowing moving stuff to snow clearing. Got about 8" of dense fine powder snow, very difficult to walk in. As soon as it stops snowing, I'm going to plow in front of the barn. Only casualty has been the toe next to my little toe on my right foot. I was getting ready to go out and feed the horses and the lights went out for a few minutes, as I tried to navigate my way back to the flashlights, I stubbed it brutally. Later discovered it bled all over everything.

44,000 people are currently without power and temps below freezing. Lows for the next couple days are predicted to be about 10F. Two neighbors a about half a mile away have been without power most of the night.

Loss of power/heat is where the big danger begins. I will NEVER live any place that gets below 60 degree without a wood stove in the house. No power, no issue. No heat, no way!

What does THAT mean????? I don't believe Drumpf believes in climate change or global warming. I'm responding to the comments of how unusual it is for those on the East Coast - especially south east - to get this kind of weather. Due to global warming, we're getting higher, deeper, colder water that is changing the climate and increasing flooding. IMHO ;)

I read recently that the warming Arctic results in a weakening of the jet stream, which allows colder air to come down into the US. SO on average, warming (as in the entire world) with areas that are colder, and increasing severity of extremes.
