Specified human because otherwise my go to would be a nice leather halter for the celebrant to grow out of
So need birthday gift ideas for a coming two year old BOY who is mad about cows and horses. He lives in town, but he loves cows and horses. Willing to spend ~$50, any suggestions? I normally avoid children that aren't old enough to ride independently so I'm a bit clueless here. Thanks for any suggestions!

One of the fun tractor like trikes? A cowboy outfit? Do the parents have any suggestions? We're strictly Montessori at home with wooden toys and toys that require imagination, so the parents might have ideas for what they'd like.
Or, books. Books are always a great gift!

How about this?
It's a bouncy horse kids can ride on.

Here's a similar one that's cheaper:

Big Leggos. May as well start the process early.

Should have said up to $50. No it's not a requirement, if I can find something clever for $10, so much the better!

My girls had endless amount of fun at that age with this thing: https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Lit ... =play+barn
My girls had endless amount of fun with things like drums and bongos and maracas too. Me, not so much.
At 2, my girls had absolutely no fun with books, though i loved them dearly.
McDonald's happy meal is about $5 nowadays, so while i understand the indignation, the reality is that every kids birthday party we go to, the gift is about $40. Sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less, but, realistically speaking, $50 for a kids birthday gift isn't the outrageous amount it used to be.
Edited to add: I see orono already posted the exact same Little People barn with animals. At that age, few things beat Little People.

Boy- legos the big ones are always a hit. Cars or trucks or work related vehicles like dump truck, Thomas the Train stuff, T ball/golf set. My son at this age could wack a plastic golf ball pretty darn good. Horses got used to those balls zinging around the barn! Bob the Builder stuff, sand box type toys, scoops and shovels and buckets.
So many are getting their little ones into the tech toys even at this early age, we tried to stay away and get more traditional toys that needed physical interaction. Out door toys were very appealing.

Yes, if you are looking for a way to alienate his parents, get him a percussion instrument. Almost guaranteed - he will love it; parents will hate it. Or, a toy firetruck with a siren (remembering one Christmas when parents got grandson said firetruck. They disabled the siren pretty quickly )
If you like the parents, The Little People Animal Friends Barn looks perfect.

You are very generous (want to come to my kids birthdays? ). I loved the cool tractors and wheelbarrows and stuff the boys could push (lawnmowers) when my kids were little. We even had a little wheelbarrow they used to help us in the yard. Does he like to color? Chalk for outdoor coloring, books...

Dilemma solved. I found two darling little stuffed Bulls, one long horn and one Hereford, and a copy of Ferdinand which I will be happy to read to him since it was a favorite of mine, and probably the reason I've taught most of the range bulls around here to eat carrots out of hand
Re: Birthday gift suggestions for two year old (human)?
Love it! Ferdinand was my favourite book too, a copy still sits on my nightstand. There is an animated movie of Ferdinand coming out this Dec, I can hardly wait!
