I think you both were fortunate. Sometimes these matches just happen and can't be explained except that it was meant to be. She is a beautiful girl.
Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
She's a buckskin. Sadly I can't register her because of one of the things that I find beautiful about her. She as some cream colored hairs in her mane that make her ineligible.acheyarcher wrote:I am terrible at some of the color designations. Is she considered a grulla?

That is the most Bolshevik thing I have heard in a long while! Crazy.

Agreed. Sometimes I think Ditto left her a little bit of her spirit.

That is beautiful. Jasmine has such an intelligent + sensitive expression. So glad you found each other.

Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
thanks for the info on coloring detail
the cream color hairs could be easily dismissed to old fungal infection, but no matter, registration does not really matter.
Besides cream color hair is a girls mane is pretty, if I say so myself. or really really pale blonde, or gray

Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
Yeah, grey is awesome. I like the variation in her mane.
My known breeding but unregistered very white grey mare has a steel grey mane and a striped steel grey/white tail. I always say that we match (short, grey, kind of round, short legs, good hair).

That sounds so pretty!

Great photos!

I did think buttermilk buckskins have the silver highlights called frosting (my buttermilk buckskin has them).
Here is my LusoX buttermilk buckskin with frosting in her mane and tail

She is beautiful! I love the frosting on the cake but apparently the registry I'm looking into doesn't lol.khall wrote:I did think buttermilk buckskins have the silver highlights called frosting (my buttermilk buckskin has them).

I stand corrected. I contacted the registry to make sure about her coloring and they said she COULD be registered. And some of the shows offer ranch riding classes so I think I'll be doing that.
Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
Well yeah!! I'm glad you checked again. I knew the frosting is common in the lighter buckskins like ours, not so much with the darker ones but I have seen it.
I really need to register my filly, she can be with ILAHA I just have not. Stupid not to.

Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
It doesn't look like the Texas club is very active at all. I would have to go to Oklahoma for shows so not sure it would be worth it. I don't see anything like the Paint Horse association has where they can earn PAC points at open shows.
Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
Stunning girl! I'm sorry for your loss, and happy you have this lovely girl to dote on.
Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
Stunning! What a beautiful job you’ve done with this mare!
Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
Stunning!! Love her!!
Re: Jasmine (rescue horse) update
Thank you. I am truly lucky to have found her. She is an amazing little girl.
